INCUNA – A FUTURE FOR OUR PAST: 25TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE
27 – 30 September 2023
Gijón, Asturias, Spain
Reduced Registration Rate Available Before May 15
Call for Papers Deadline is 15 July 2023
2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the Industrial Heritage Conference that INCUNA has been organizing without interruption. The event has become a meeting point for researchers, cultural and tourism managers, professionals from different academic or scientific disciplines, civil servants, technicians or businessmen, workers, associations, students, activists and citizens in general.
The conference debates, reflects and proposes a future for industrial heritage, preserving the memory and identity of places and cities, conserving or giving a second life to testimonies that are cultural heritage and make up the landscapes of our living environments.
On this occasion, we commemorate this silver jubilee of INCUNA, offering a relational link with other commemorations: 20 years of the Charter of NIznhy Tagil, whose publication on July 17, 2003 after a world conference of TICCIH was a conceptual reference to define what we understand industrial heritage to be. In this sense, we propose consideration and discussion toward updating our objectives in the preservation of industrial memory and also of how and in what way we propose to give a second life to industrial heritage.
