The XIV International Conference of Industrial Heritage, about Industrial Heritage, Cultural Landscape and Regional Development: Memory of development, is having a big reception between investigators and professionals around the world, which, from the 26th to the 30th of September, will give their papers, communications and posters in the only International event with annual character organized in Europe about this subject. It will bring to Gijon about 200 investigators, professors, students, architects, technicians and citizens worried about the preservation and valuation of the industrial heritage legacy in the context of cultural landscape, with emphasis in interventions and projects which are causing interesting programs of regional development on an international scale.

The first relation of papers can be a sample of the huge participation forecast, because we have one hundred of papers which will be exposed in morning and afternoon sessions with papers, communications and symposiums about methodology, cases and experiences where architecture, the work memory, the engineering and the environment are not indifferent to suggestive products of sustainable and responsible tourism in all the world. This year, the answer of the industrial and cultural heritage enthusiast has been amazing, with a hundred of papers evaluated by the Organizer and Scientific Committee the 15th of July. More than 80 communications, 12 papers and posters.

The registration period for the conference is still open, and we request people who make phone calls and send e-mails not to delay the shipment of their information according with the rules.

At the end of July, we will make know the presentations order celebrated in Laboral City of Culture. The inauguration of the conference will be on Wednesday, September the 26th in the Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto.

The conference offers a variety of complementary activities, such as the IX International Photography Contest whose registration period finishes at the end of August. Optional visits to Railway Museum, ethnographic of Asturias village, Laboral City of Culture, Atlantic Botanic Garden and Citadel of Capua between others.

On Saturday, September the 29th we make a guide visit to Asturias and Leon landscapes, with guide visit to the National Museum of Energy in Ponferrada, the Sulphur Dam and other patrimonial elements in “El Bierzo”.

On Sunday the 30th we will make the Cider Route in the morning around Gijon, where the local cider press offer their product.

The seats for the trip are limited, so we suggest participants to book it in advance.
