PROGRAM OF THE XVII INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE

SECTION 1- BACK TO THE SOURCE: The role of Industry.-

In this section will be analysed the content, features and peculiarities of the documentary heritage received from commercial entities, industries, groups and individuals as a reflection and testimony of its activity. Shape and circumstances in which they were generated and preserved or destroyed and the values ​​that now history holds for preservation and protection. Knowing how these funds and collections were generated or conceived, not contributes just to give much rigid methodologies applied to conservation and organization but also add value to that inheritance as it has come to us.

SECTION 2 INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS FOR CENTERS DOCUMENTATION -A second life.-

Content: In this section will be analysed the opportunity to use buildings with an industrial past to documentation centers such as archives, libraries, newspaper archives, photolibraries and even mixed or integrated centers such funds and museums that are already containing them. Will be discussed different projects which are already implemented and others that never created or that will be realized in the near or distant future. Examples to understand the importance of this issue. Being preferred the opinion of architects and engineers is not least know what we have to communicate and bring experts from industry and documentation professionals heritage.

SECTION 3 CONSERVATION AND RELEASE: DOCUMENTATION CENTERS OF INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE

Culture and role of industrial memory.

Digital memory versus document preservation.

New technologies for the treatment of documentary heritage.

The content of this section will discuss conceptions about design, planning, organization and service centers and documentary services responsible for the conservation, organization, funds distribution, and ndustrial heritage collections, public and private. Conceived as independent centers or well linked to museums or other places or spaces of interpretation of the industrial past, with particular reference to the work on funds disclosure by scanning documents, computerized data, creating web portals and consultation.

SECTION 4- DOCUMENTARY SOURCES OF INDUSTRIAL PATRIMONY AT SERVICE OF THE INVESTIGATIONS – The documentary heritage as raw material.

The content of this section will discuss the value, characteristics and circumstances of the documentary collections of industrial heritage for research and researchers. The relationship between resources and results, the visibility of documentary centers, the impact of studies and publications, the relationship between volume and quality of funds and the number and level of researchers, the situation in universities, access to funds and the new transparency law. The assessing of state of affairs: the research of industrial patrimony today and all matters arising from the relationship between curator and researcher, between funds and users. All this from the point of view of user and researcher.

Itinerary of historical archives and enterprises about the Industrial and Cultural Landscape of Asturias

Route accordance with the contents of the XVII Conference of INCUNA 2015

Gijón, Oviedo, Avilés, Castrillón

Industrial tourism and boat trip from where look Factories and landscape environment.

Guided tour of historical archives of Asturias, Archives company’s RCAM (Arnao), visit the factories of the Real Compañía Asturiana de Minas and other heritage sites of the territory. Evaluation and tasting the culinary heritage with consequent study and consideration of intangible heritage and other thematic ludic aspects of the area.

The official languages ​​of the XV International Conference of Industrial Heritage are Spanish, English, Portuguese and French. In any of them can be forwarded texts and expose the works.

SHIPPING TIME SUMMARY / ABSTRACT

For the acceptance of communications, posters and presentations is necessary to send an abstract in Spanish (or native language) and English of a maximum of 30 lines, to deliver before 10 July 2015. Once evaluated by a committee of organizers and Scientific Committees will realize admission to expose it. The papers will be published in volume 16 of the collection “Los Ojos de la Memoria”.

There are different registration way, starting by 135 euro for the full Conference with excursions and 100 euros as a general registration (without tour), INCUNA- Ticcih Spain partners there are special costs, the same for students, unemployed and pensioners.

 

IF THE REGISTRATION IS MADE BEFORE JUNE 1, 2015, FEES HAVE A DEDUCTION OF 10%
