The XXII International Conference of Industrial Heritage that this year 2020, organized by INCUNA, which has been held for twenty-two years in Gijón (Asturias) has had a great reception and interest, surpassing the already important participation of past years.The opening ceremony will be held on Wednesday 23rd September in Gijón, during the morning, and will have face-to-face sessions that will be held in accordance with the current regulations on prevention and safety against the pandemic in the facilities of the Cultural Space of the School of Commerce and the CCAI, Center of Culture of the Old Institute. There will also be activities and film screenings of the Incuna Filmfest 2020 with students, teachers, technicians, entrepreneurs, cultural and tourism managers, neighborhood associations and public and private institutions.

The activities will require a previous request to confirm attendance, due to the rules and limited capacity.The presentation sessions and talks on the 24th and 25th will be ONLINE, through our digital platform, and can also be viewed with the capacity allowed from the rooms of the above mentioned centers. So far, 130 papers and communications have been presented, in two transversal or cross-cutting panels, and four thematic sections:

Wednesday 23rd September from 16 to 20 h. (p.m. local time Spain). Panel on «Museum Management in Post Covid19 Times». Panel on «Energy and ecological transition in European regions». Regional Development and Valorization of Heritage Resources,

  • Thursday 24 September from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (local time Spain)
  • Historical means of transport and mobility.
  • Conservation, security and interventions on heritage
  • Friday 25th September from 9 to 20 h (local time Spain)
    Industrial memory, circular economy and industrial tourism in the new normality
    Energy and ecological transition of the industrial heritage. Urban management and sustainable landscapes.

On Saturday, September 26th, an itinerary will be made through the industrial, cultural and natural heritage in Asturias, with visits to the municipalities of Avilés, Ribera de Arriba, Langreo, San Martín del Rey Aurelio, Oviedo and Gijón, with a project -demonstration that will take into account the norms and criteria of capacity, security, physical distances and sanitary measures in force in the Community.
